Welcome

Welcome to the new ETCBC website! We invite you to explore and find out what’s happening.

Here are a few features you may find helpful:

Sunday service

Join us for online corporate worship every Sunday at 10:00 a.m. through our live stream.

Due to the COVID-19 pandemic and social distancing restrictions, we have gone virtual! Thanks to our tech-savvy staff and volunteers who put in countless hours to keep our community thriving!

We believe that as a community of believers, worshipping together is a sacred time where the body can express itself in music, creative arts, and teaching, whatever format it may be.

On the second Sunday of every month, we also gather virtually to celebrate the “bread and the cup”as ordained by Jesus during his earthly ministry.

Portable pastor

Got Zoom fatigue? Craving some real face time with your fellow ET folks?! Socially distant doesn’t have to mean socially disconnected! We’re bringing our pastors to you! Introducing “Portable Pastor”, our latest way to stay connected!

Book a time with your pastors for an in person visit, prayer and socially distanced fellowship!

COVID-19 resources

See our COVID-19 resources for more information.

Chinese Sunday services

In addition to our English Service, we have a Cantonese Service at 11:15 am and a Mandarin Service at 9:45 am, both online as well. More info can be found on our Cantonese and Mandarin websites.

Land acknowledgement

The land that our church building stands on is the traditional territory of many nations, including the Anishinaabe, the Huron-Wendat, and the Haudenosaunee Confederacy, and is now home to many diverse First Nations, Inuit and Métis people.

This land is also under Treaty 13 signed with the Mississaugas of the Credit, and the Williams Treaties signed with multiple Mississaugas and Chippewa bands. The negotiation of Treaties, while seemingly honourable and legal, was often marked by fraud and coercion.

As God’s people, let us take care to learn the truth of Canada’s history with Indigenous people. Let us also prayerfully respond to the calls to action for churches, such as:

“teach…the need to respect Indigenous spirituality in its own right, the history and legacy of residential schools and the roles of the church parties in that system, the history and legacy of religious conflict in Aboriginal families and communities, and the responsibility that churches have to mitigate such conflicts and prevent spiritual violence.”

The goal of ET_BLOGS is to explore, discover, and reflect on where God is calling us, both on a personal level and as a church. We want to create a space that gives us the freedom to discuss the things that we learn and struggle with. We plan to have some regular contributors and occasionally guest writers. If you’d like to contribute, please contact us.
