ET_BLOGS

The main reasons why we are starting ET_BLOGS are to explore, discover, and reflect on where God is calling us, both on a personal level and as a church. We want to create a space that gives us the freedom to discuss the things that we learn and struggle with. Sometimes these will be reflections from sermons, community activities, or even personal times of silence and solitude with God.

ET_BLOGS isn’t meant to be a place where we necessarily provide answers and theological doctrines, although you may find your theology stretched. It isn’t meant to simply update you on church activities, although you may be invited to join in. It isn’t just to make you more aware of community issues, although you may start to see God as much in the community as you do in the church. The hope of this space is that you will engage with us as we journey together in fully responding to who God is. We plan to have some regular contributors and some guest writers from time to time.

If you would also like to contribute to ET_BLOGS, please contact [email protected].

By: Mattan, Community Engagement Coordinator These past two weeks have been a blend of busyness and excitement. Being a youth in both this church and community, I wanted to use this opportunity to learn about how this church works to serve the Victoria Village community and gain insight on how I could engage myself in...

By: Katy S. Among the cacophony of sounds that constantly fill the hospital hallways and often blend into a background hum, there is one noise that immediately commands the full attention of each staff member – the tell-tale tone on the overhead PA system declaring an emergency code. Busy hands halt and breaths held frozen,...

By: Annie C. Growing up, my schools would hold food drives around Thanksgiving or Christmas to support a local food bank.  The lesson was simple: we should give people food so they won’t go hungry.  This was further reinforced when I got involved with Harvest Corner, a ministry we used to have at ET that...

By: Guru, Community Engagement Coordinator The ETCBC Kids Camp has come to an end, and with that comes learning experiences to reflect on, and knowledge for future Kids Camps. I believe that the Kids Camp was overall a positive experience for all of the kids who attended as well as the coordinators, however, there were...

By: Jonathan, Community Engagement Coordinator The main focus of the past two weeks has been working with the St.Jude’s food bank to help develop some promotional material for donations. I feel that this initiative is especially important during these times of need, as there are many restrictions that limit the influx of donations as well...

I have little experience in actually hosting and leading a summer camp, and have not had the opportunity to lead one with young children. I mention this...

By: Jonathan, Community Engagement Coordinator Time has come and passed with the second blog post already coming around. I find myself sitting here, in front of my computer, struggling to materialize my thoughts. Struggling to string together my ideas for this blog post. With the summer guide completed, I’m finding myself to be in a...

Lupton is a book that has shifted my perspective on the work that charities do, and how they...
