How to give

Online offering guidelines

Tithing is a privilege and responsibility of our regular attendees to participate in and support our ministries. As we gather virtually to worship God, tithing by cash or cheques may not be feasible. We encourage our congregants to send in your offerings online using one of the three options below, in order of preference.

Note: For options 1 and 2 (pre-authorized debit and Interac e-Transfer), donations will be included on your tax receipts issued by ETCBC. For option 3, donation receipts will be issued by CanadaHelps.

For more information, please contact [email protected].

Three ways to give online

Pre-authorized debit (PAD) / Automatic bank withdrawal
INTERAC e-Transfer®
CanadaHelps online donation
Option 1

Pre-authorized debit (PAD) / Automatic bank withdrawal

This is a preferred option even though ETCBC pays a small fee.

Who: You have a bank account and want to set up a monthly donation to ETCBC with a fixed amount.

What: Authorizing ETCBC to deduct a specified amount from your chequing account.

How:

  1. Fill out this pre-authorized debit agreement.
  2. Prepare a VOID cheque.
  3. Scan or take pictures of the above 2 items and email them to [email protected].
  4. The amount will be withdrawn from your bank on the 15th of each month or the next business day.
  5. You may revoke your authorization at any time, subject to providing notice of 30 days.
Option 2

INTERAC e-Transfer®

This is also a preferred option as ETCBC does not incur any fees.

Who: You use online banking and want to send a one-time donation of whatever amount at whatever time
convenient to you. You can also set up recurring donations at your choice.

What: Money is sent directly from your bank account to ETCBC’s bank account.

How:

  1. Sign in to your online banking and follow the steps to set up an INTERAC e-Transfer®. Note: Please check with your banking plan to determine any applicable fees.
  2. For recipient’s contact email, enter [email protected].
  3. For optional message, enter your full name and offering number if you know it.
  4. You shouldn’t be required to set up a security question. The money will be deposited into ETCBC’s bank
    account automatically.
  5. For simplicity, all donations made via e-Transfer will be considered as General Fund, which will cover any shortfalls at year-end for Missions Fund.
Option 3

Who: You want to make a donation using your credit card or PayPal.

What: Donate via CanadaHelps website which charges ETCBC a 3.5% processing fee on monthly donations and 4% on one-time donations.
