When we talk about serving at church or leadership, it’s often focused on what people aren’t doing. Look at all these vacancies. Why aren’t more people stepping up? If you’d only put your trust in God, you could do great things. I’m not saying there’s no value in that line of thinking, but what’s another way of looking at it? What are people doing?

QMM is next week and it’s going to be a long one. A lot happens at church and since so little of it directly impacts us, we often overlook or are even ignorant of them. Here are some facts to consider:
We have: 242 members, 6 pastors, 2 admins, 3 deacons, 3 board officers and 12 elected language ministry lay-leaders.
Among our 3 adult language ministries, 1 youth and 1 children’s ministries there are:
- 11 Sunday School classes,
- 23 Small Groups & Fellowships,
- 7 worship teams, 5 Prayer Groups, and
- 3 niche ministries.
This does not include our outreach partnerships with TCM (Role Model Moms), YU (Rahab), St. Jude’s (Food Bank) or The Hub.
Our nearly $725,000 budget pays for 6 full-time and 2 part-time staff, resources for our programs & leaders, guest speakers, 8 local + 7 international missions, the Nehemiah Project, janitorial services, supplies (Communion, washroom, kitchen), insurance and utilities.
So before QMM, think through what your expectations are of church (we all have them) and review the agenda below.
