This past Sunday, Pastor Tim challenged us to action if there are even 10 people in need in our communities just as Abraham challenged God to spare Sodom (Gen 18:16-33). So let’s talk food since we’ve been supporting St Jude’s Food Bank for the last 10 years or so.  In Toronto, nearly 900,000 people went to a food bank in March 2015* which is a little more than 10 people…right?

Food security is a big, complicated issue but there are so many ways to get involved:

  • Reduce your food waste (buy what you need and use up all your groceries)

  • Donate your POINTS (redeem your loyalty program points for grocery store gift cards)

  • Find out if your employer will match your charitable donations

  • Find out if your employer supports Volunteer Time Off (VTO)

  • Contact your local foodbank to find out what their primary needs are.  Here are some links to help you:
