For whatever reason that I can’t really recall, I ended up booking my flight first thing Saturday morning. I’m sure I had a good reason for it at the time. But today, all I really wanted to do was to go home. Apparently, there are times when I miss my family. However, it didn’t work out, so I had this free day in Vancouver.
At the beginning of the day, I thought, well let’s make the most of it. I can just spend the day wandering the city, go for some drinks, maybe even catch a Canucks game. At the very worst, it would just be my “introvert” day to process Arrow and maybe even start doing some marking. I figured I had a day off before having to do any real work.
This morning, Hollis, my leadership partner, shared this with us: “delayed obedience is disobedience”. It’s kind of been the theme for today. I’ve had several important emails, random conversations with strangers, more meaningful conversations with friends and I just got back to my hotel at almost midnight. It’s definitely been a lot fuller than I imagined. Just a reminder that as much as God invites us to participate in some of His bigger plans, He also gives us daily nudges and invitations that might only require you to be 10% more friendly.
(Side note: I managed to squeeze in a bike ride along the sea wall and it was beautiful. I’m incredibly jealous of these bike lanes).
